About Dr. Philip

Dr. Kurlander brings more than 25 years of entrepreneurial investment experience and nearly 10 years of GSA leased estate investment experience to the Company. Dr. Kurlander shares responsibility for the development of the corporate, investment and capitalization strategies. Mr. Kurlander is a member of the Investment Committee of the Gary Harbor Government Income REIT.

Dr. Kurlander’s previous experience includes co-founding HC Government Realty Trust (“HCGRT”) where he served as a Director and the Treasurer. Dr. Kurlander was also a Managing Principal and lead investor of Holmwood Capital, the predecessor to HCGRT and Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Holmwood Capital Advisors the external manager of HCGRT, where he shared responsibility for the oversight of the company’s financials and operations and served as a member of the investment committee.

Dr. Kurlander previously served in critical roles with numerous start-up ventures and early-growth companies across a spectrum of industries from real estate to manufacturing. Dr. Kurlander currently sits on several corporate boards, including Addison McKee, ShelterLogic and North American Propane. Dr. Kurlander also sits on the advisory boards of a mezzanine lender and a private equity firm.

Dr. Kurlander is a licensed Anesthesiologist in the State of New York. Dr. Kurlander has previously served as Chief Resident in Anesthesiology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and on the faculty of Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Kurlander holds a BS degree from SUNY Albany summa cum laude and an MD degree from Albany Medical College.
